Rev. Wendy Lybarger is currently appointed Lead Pastor of Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church. Ordained an Elder in The United Methodist Church in 2010, Wendy is a 2007 graduate of the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, earning a Master of Divinity degree, with concentrations in Church Leadership and Liturgical Arts, and a Master of Arts in Christian Education. She has served small, mid-size, and large churches in rural, urban, suburban, and university settings, and as an Assistant to the District Superintendent and a Regional Missional Specialist with West Ohio Conference. Throughout her ministry, Wendy has served on various committees in the West Ohio Conference, taught in lay and clergy forums and was part of West Ohio delegation to the North Katanga Conference, Democratic Republic of the Congo, to inaugurate the new Wings of the Morning airplane in 2013 and to teach at their Pastor’s School in 2018. Wendy brings gifts and skills in faith formation, worship and preaching; experience in management, organizational development and leadership; and a creative spirit that continues to blossom. Wendy lives on the north side of Dayton with her spouse Tom, their tuxedo cat Mr. PIB, and their rescue puppy Lady; she is mother of 3 and “nana” of 7, an avid sports fan (OSU football and Columbus Blue Jackets hockey) and loves to read, travel, garden, and cook.
