Fellowship Groups
Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church has relationship opportunities across all age groups. In addition to regularly
scheduled programs, special fellowship occasions like skating parties, hayrides, church softball league, picnics,
and Christmas caroling are offered throughout the year. The idea is to have fun and enjoy life with your church
family.
SCOUTING PROGRAM
Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church sponsors Cub Scout Pack 268, Boy Scout Troop 268 and Venturing Crew. The Cubs
and Scouts meet at various times throughout the week.
FAITH WEAVER FRIENDS
Faith Weaver Friends is an exciting and challenging program of games, crafts, Bible stories, and scripture memorization.
Children from preschool through 5th grade are divided into groups that move through different centers each week. These
centers aim to encourage them to grow in their faith and enjoy the journey! We meet together every other Sunday evening
from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. from September through May. Each meeting begins with a time of fellowship, food, and fun in the
fellowship hall.
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
Youth Group is for 6th through 12th grade students and meets from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Sunday evenings. Activities
include recreation, discussion of topics/issues, retreats, trips, Tar Hollow Christian Adventure Camp, and community
mission projects within and outside the local area. Tuesdays and Thursdays the Youth House is open from 3:00-6:00 P.M.
and on Tuesday evenings there is a Youth Bible Study that meets at 6:00 P.M. The group also plans special outings and
endeavors throughout the year.
Youth who wish to participate in Sulphur Grove United Methodist Youth activities that occur
away from the Taylorsville or YMCA campus areas must complete and provide to the SGUMC adult advisors the appropriate
Permission Forms. These forms must be filled out in full and signed by the youth's parents before the youth may
participate in the trip or event.
There are two levels of permission/medical forms:
1. Local area trips and events less than 100 miles (2 hours) away:

forms will be with the responsible adult on the trip or event and on file at the church in case of an emergency.
Permission and medical forms are not needed when attending events at either local campus of the Sulphur Grove
United Methodist Church.
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
Do you enjoy friendship with other Christian women? Do you need encouragement and prayers occasionally? Are you
looking for ways to share your talents and experiences to help others as God has called you? Do you wish to grow
spiritually? If you can answer "yes" to any of these questions, the United Methodist Women invite you to join one
of our four circle groups. No matter what your age or interests, there's a circle for you! These circles meet monthly.
There are also general meetings and activities for all United Methodist women.
SALT SHAKERS
What are Salt Shakers? They are groups of singles and couples who meet once a month for dinner and socializing.
Sometimes the dinners are in homes, and sometimes they are at restaurants. Several Salt Shaker groups are established
at Sulphur Grove. Join one and enjoy the fellowship time!
SENIOR CITIZENS
Sulphur Grove hosts a dynamic Senior Citizens group meeting the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall for a
luncheon and an informative program. Special outings and activities are planned throughout the year.
