Children and Youth

Youth and children's ministry is an important part of the YMCA campus. We realize that building the foundations of faith can start with even the youngest children. We desire to help families, children and youth grow together in their faith, knowledge and service to God. Participating in programs that are set up just for children and youth - on their level and in ways that are interesting helps encourage a desire to learn more and put action behind their knowledge.

Here are descriptions of the basic programs that we have for children and youth. If you have any further questions please contact Carly Schneider at carly@sulphurgrove.org.

Children

Sunday Morning:
Families begin the worship service gathering together and during worship children who are 4 years old through 5th grade are invited to attend classes in the Multi-Purpose Room. Children are divided by age . They are given the opportunity to explore the same things that their parents are learning in worship through the use of games, crafts, Bible lessons, and prayer. Classes are designed to help children understand the day's lesson on their own level.

Child care is available for infants and toddlers in the nursery. A pager system will let you know if your child needs you so you can participate in worship without worrying.

Other Children's Programs

FaithWeaver Friends meets the second and fourth Sunday night of the month at the Taylorsville Campus from 6-8 PM. Each meeting starts with dinner for the whole family followed by classes for all grade levels. Children focus on a different lesson each week with games, crafts, Bible readings, and surprise activities. This program is open to all children from 4 years old through 5th grade. Childcare is available for children under age 4. Adult programs are available at the same time.

There are other children's programs that happen throughout the year such as Vacation Bible School, Easter and Christmas programs, Fall activities, and many more. If you are interested in knowing what is coming soon please call or e-mail Carly Schneider at 237-5241 or carly@sulphurgrove.org

Youth

There are a lot of fun and meaningful ways to be part of youth ministry at Sulphur Grove. Any student who is in the 6th through 12th grade is welcome to take part in youth activities.

Youth Group meets in some form almost every Sunday night. Youth often participate in service projects, Bible studies, retreats, lock-ins, trips, camps, and other activities. If you would like to know more about youth ministry please call or e-mail Carly Schneider at 237-5241 or at carly@sulphurgrove.org
